Our mattress covers act as a shield to toxic gasses emitted by the crib mattress. They are made with 6mil food grade polyethylene.
Why are there vent holes?
1. The vent holes prevent the “balloon affect” when putting on your mattress cover.
2. The chemicals which off-gas are heavier than the air we breathe, and will travel downward away from your sleeping child.
A safe mattress does not contain harmful chemicals:
EXAMPLES:
• 100% organic cotton mattress with cotton filling and NO PVC waterproof cover.
• Greenguard Certified mattress. This certification shows that the mattress has undergone strict testing to ensure the product does not contain toxic chemicals.
